Hanging Rock Winery was established in1983 in the beautiful Macedon Ranges. The Hanging Rock region is full of scenic splendours, none better than the Rock itself. From the Hanging Rock Winery's hillside tasting room there's a great view of this geological curiosity in the forest, with the imposing hillside of Mount Macedon behind it. Hanging Rock Winery have a picnic area on their lawns in front of the cellar door, great for couples and families. Paramoor Winery

439 Three Chain Road Road, Carlsruhe VIC 3442
Paramoor Winery was established in 2005 by Will Fraser, and is already one of the most popular and awarded wineries in the Macedon Ranges. A boutique operation, Paramoor Winery is not about mass production. Quality always comes before quantity - and there is quality in everything the winery does. From the meticulous selection of grapes for Paramoor's wine, to the personalised service at the cellar door, every detail is considered... and the results speak for themselves. Paramoor's wines have attracted international recognition, with high praise coming from Australia's most recognised wine critic, James Halliday. He calls Paramoor an 'excellent producer of very high quality wines' and has judged several Paramoor wines to be among the best in the nation. Located in native bushland high in the Macedon Ranges, cool climate grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon thrive in rich volcanic soils; while the region's Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir grapes are thought to be among the purest in the world. Paramoor Winery's cellar door tasting and sales area, converted from old stables, draws a crowd as much for its relaxed ambience and thoughtful displays of history, as for its outstanding wines. A visit to Paramoor is a must for anyone touring the picturesque Macedon Ranges. Paramoor Winery produces award winning wines, great food, and a cellar door that is one of the most talked about in the region.
