Mihi Junction Reserve - also known as Mihi Creek - is a heritage-listed archaeological site.
The reserve is accessed via Haig Street in Brassall or the Brassall Bikeway, which also links directly to the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Popular with local cyclists and mountain bikers, the Mihi Junction Trail boasts approximately 2 kilometres of bike and BMX track. With easy stretches of track ideal for children and novice mountain bikers, the trail also features 200 metres of pump track which includes berms, rollers and jumps for more experienced thrill-seekers.
Mihi Junction is also home to the fantastic steel sculpture "Rail Rocket" by Christopher Trotter, which celebrate the area's rich railway history, with the area being the site of Queensland's first main line railway, officially opened on 31 July 1865.

Just 25 minutes from Ipswich in the country town of Marburg is one of only three surviving harness racing courses in Queensland.
The Marburg Pacing Association was formed back in 1982 as a place for people to run trials and has grown into a racing venue that now hosts 18 TAB meetings a year.
When those meetings fall on a Sunday or a public holiday the Pacing Association puts on a big family fun day offering kids activities like waterslides, face painting, markets, mini-trots and the opportunity to pat a pony after a race.

Nerang is 12-kilometres from Surfers Paradise, a few kilometres from the Nerang train station and home to over 1700-hectares of mountain bike terrain.
Nerang played host to the mountain bike events for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).
For cycling enthusiasts there's much on offer. Load up the mountain bikes and enjoy the excitement of tackling 20-kilometres of designated mountain bike tracks through dry rainforest and open eucalypt forests. Trails range from the easy Casuarina Grove circuit to intermediate tracks through tall forest and rough terrain.
The most popular starting point is accessed by parking at the Nerang Velodrome on Hope Street and cutting through the middle of the facility (watch for traffic on the criterium circuit).
Expect a variety of fire trails with off-shoots of technically challenging singletrack through rock gardens, small drop offs and creek beds. Exploration is the key to find the tracks. There are lots of single tracks running off the fire trails so get out there and go hard. If you want to explore the area with someone in the know, go to the Nerang Mountain Bike shop in Nerang West as the Gold Coast Mountain Bike Club run a social ride most Saturdays....

The Deception Bay Heritage Trail covers about four kilometres and can be completed in a 90-minute stroll. Over 10 unique sculptural markers, made from brushed and painted aluminium on structural aluminium pipe, identify each heritage location.
The abstract forms of the markers were inspired by mangrove leaves in various states of growth and decay, mangrove root systems and the foreshore rock formations that can be seen at the northern end of the Bay at low tide.

As the leading metropolitan race club in Queensland, the Brisbane Racing Club conducts over 70 race meetings and hosts over 200000 patrons each year. Race meetings are conducted at the club’s two racecourses, Eagle Farm and Doomben.
The Brisbane Racing Club also hosts many other feature racing events including Girls Day Out (February), Mekka Wednesday (August), Country Music Raceday (September) and Melbourne Cup Day (November).
Highlights on the racing calendar include the Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival (May/June) and Spring Carnival (October/November). These racing events feature black type races attracting wide interest from the public, media and industry.
The Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival consists of five feature meetings from May to June. Each year this racing extravaganza brings some outstanding proven racehorses from all states and New Zealand to compete with the very best Queensland horses. Many of the superstars from the training and riding rinks throughout Australasia will have a presence at the meetings.
The major events on the racing calendar are the Doomben 10000, Doomben Cup, Queensland Oaks, Kingsford Smith Cup and Queensland's most prestigious race, the Stradbroke Handicap.
