River Dolls of Goolwa sell local art and craftwork, pre-loved dolls and the highly collectable fashion, celebrity and Barbie dolls. You will also find a bright, colourful display of twentieth century dolls and toys. All the family will enjoy the nostalgic trip back through time. There's something for everyone - even Dad! Inside River Dolls, you will find a lolly shop, Dollies Lollies - Sweet Memories. Indulge yourself by selecting from the large range of Australian, English and Scottish sweets from Dollies Lollies and then spend an hour wandering through their award-winning display of childhood memorabilia. Situated on the Main Street of Goolwa opposite the Caltex Service Station, River Dolls is air conditioned with easy wheelchair access. Group bookings can be made by prior arrangement and early or late opening can be arranged for coach groups.

A seaside resort where the River Murray meets the Southern Ocean. Play golf on our 18 hole course with lush fairways and excellent greens, set against a backdrop of sand dunes. The design of the course provides golfers of all ages, with differing skill levels, the opportunity to enjoy a round of golf without the use of motorised transport. The relatively flat terrain makes the course a pleasant walk while listening to the waves crashing on the beach in the background. The course is not long but still provides a challenge to the low handicappers, as accuracy is the priority, particularly approach shots to the greens. This course is a par 70 and has an Australian course rating of 70 and is 5,773 metres. Golf course open during daylight hours.

The Steam Exchange Brewery, located in the centre of the historic Goolwa Wharf Precinct, revives the grand tradition of brewing fine ales as part of the Fleurieu Peninsula's regional cuisine. The Steam Exchange brews a range of distinctive beers, amongst the few to reach the consumer after being sterile filtered, rather than pasteurised. This preservative-free approach maintains the crisp and bold flavours within the beer. A variety of beers are produced, consisting of four permanent beers and a range of seasonally available beers, which may be purchased directly from the brewery or a few selected outlets throughout South Australia. The brewery is open for tasting and sales Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am to 5pm.

The Goolwa Golf Course is a nine-hole course of 4,936 metres with a Par 60 and an Australian Course Rating of 64. It has scrapes with two greens in play and others being developed and non-irrigated fairways. The course is gently undulating and incorporates areas of natural semi coastal heath and woodlands together with areas of native grasses. Kangaroos are frequently seen grazing the course or in the adjacent natural heritage area. The Goolwa Golf Course is a good course for those learning to play golf or somewhere to have a relaxed game while enjoying the natural environment.

Coorong Imaging is both a gallery and a working studio, displaying the works of award winning digital media artist Lindy Downing. Situated in a newly, rustically renovated 150 year old stone hut, the studio displays photographs and digital media featuring local fauna, flora and landscapes. Lessons on digital imaging and software applications are also available by prior arrangement.

During the latter half of the nineteenth and early twentieth century's the River Murray was a major inland highway for pastoralists, settlers and travellers. Fleets of paddle steamers and their barges carried produce from stations and farms to transit points downriver. There were floating shops bringing goods to the settlers, mail steamers crossing the lakes, mission boats and passenger liners, as well as small fishing boats, ferries, powerful milk launches and boats that helped build the weirs and kept the channels free of snags. Ports, trading companies and shipbuilding facilities were established, and many of the Murray's settlements developed around the trade brought by the river boats supply network. Installed in February 2009, the 'River Boat Trail' is a series of 18 interpretive panels along the South Australian section of the River Murray from Border Cliffs to Goolwa and across Lakes Alexandrina and Albert. Each panel includes a map and information that interprets South Australia's rich heritage along the River Murray. The River Boat Trail highlights state heritage listed places and shipwrecks along the river and tells the stories of the people, settlements and vessels that made the Murray a major inland highway from the 1850s to the mid-twentieth century.

Goolwa Motor Museum exhibits classic cars from all over the world. There are 45 cars on display from the 1920's to the 1970's including some unique one offs. The museum is right in the heart of the beautiful riverport town of Goolwa where you can enjoy attractions such as the cockle train, paddle steamers and the Murray Mouth.

Art@Goolwa Inc is a cooperative of 25 local artists exhibiting original work and encouraging art in the community. The gallery features art by award winning artists across all mediums including photography, sculpture, jewellery, pottery, textile and wood, mosaics, metal, glass and much more. Art@Goolwa Inc is located in a National Trust building of immense charm in the historic river port town of Goolwa.

Visit award-winning artist Carol Coventry's Sand Drift Gallery/Studio. You will be able to view Australian land scapes, seascapes and animals in pastel and acrylic. There is also a selection of handmade cards available. Carol's favourite animals to paint are cats, and she has had a great deal of success painting and exhibiting her cat paintings.

Deep Creek Wines and Alpacas is a boutique vineyard and cellar door outlet offering not only wine tastings and sales but a visitor experience as well. The property is home to a multitude of birdlife which includes kookaburras, galahs, rosellas, rainbow lorikeet, ibis, spoonbills, currawongs, magpies and many varieties of finches and blue wren. At dusk, wild kangaroos feed on the grass, much to the delight of visitors. Take your children to meet and hand feed the herd of multi coloured, very friendly and inquisitive alpacas. Visitors can sit outside under the shade of an umbrella or, during winter, sit by the cosy log fire whilst sampling wine or enjoying a freshly brewed cuppa in pleasant surrounds in a true country atmosphere. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soft drinks are available for purchase. Locally produced breadboards, honey dippers, bowls and other timber products are on show and available for purchase. At shearing time, raw alpaca fleeces for the budding wool spinner in your family are for sale in a variety of colours. Visit and enjoy the experience!

Goolwa Artworx Gallery is located 80 kilometres and an hours' drive south of Adelaide at Goolwa. Situated in the heart of the Goolwa heritage precinct, it is close to the old river port's restaurants, hotels and the historic Goolwa wharf and railway station. Housed in an 1850s stone cottage, Artworx features original oils, water colours, acrylics and pastels by a diverse range of talented South Australian artists, including many from the Fleurieu region. Part of the Fleurieu Art Trail, Artworx features beautiful hand-blown glass, pottery and jewellery - sourced by gallery owner, Liz and John Francis from around Australia as well as imported pieces from Africa, Morocco, South America, India and Indonesia.

The Goolwa Community Arts and Crafts Shop is stocked with goods made by local crafts people. You will also find a range of jams, pickles, biscuits, woodwork, toys, art and china painting, children and adult's clothes, original cards, lead lighting, SteamRanger souvenirs, baby wear, jewellery, bags, unique Manchester, leather work, novelties and gifts.

Ballast Stone Estate Wines, located in Currency Creek, is an award winning winery with a welcoming cellar door, open seven days a week. Ballast Stone has won numerous Australian and International awards for its Ballast Stone Cabernet Sauvignon. Other fine wines produced at Ballast Stone Estate include Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Grenache and Chardonnay. Premium quality Virgin Olive Oil is also produced on the estate and is available for tasting at the cellar door. Ballast Stone Estate also has a second cellar door in the wharf precinct, Goolwa.

The Oscar "W" is a steam driven wood fired 102 year old paddle steamer built at Echuca, Victoria which is situated at the wharf at the River Port of Goolwa South Australia. Since achieving survey standard 24 months ago we have been taking paying passengers on a one hour cruise three times on a cruising day. We give them the experience of this old vessel, allow them to feel, smell, hear and see what was involved in years gone by to operate one of these vessels. Now that Goolwa is back to normal pool level, during the cruise we go up to the river Barrage just before the Murray Mouth then back under the bridge to Hindmarsh Island and travel up river a short distance to the sounds of the Captain informing visitors what Goolwa attractions and history are along the water's edge. Keep in mind that this is a true working Paddle Steamer that was primarily built to be a work horse and help to develop the inland waters of Australia.

Cafe Lime and Gourmet Foodstore located in Goolwa is open seven days a week and offers breakfast and lunch as well as a range of gourmet produce. Choose from inside or outside dining where you can watch the world go by. Breakfast is served from 9am to 12pm and lunch from 12pm to 3pm. We use fresh local produce were possible including Amanti Coffee, award winning products from Alexandrina Cheese and Coorong Mullet from Hoad's Fisheries. Our salt and pepper squid with Lime salted fries is always popular with the locals! You will also find a range of local and interesting produce available which is great for gifts. We have a small wine list, as well as soft drinks, milkshakes, fresh juices, smoothies. For those on the run we do take-away meals.
