Upper Murray Estate is a boutique winery located in the beautiful, picturesque, Upper Murray region of North East Victoria. Established in the late 1990's our vine plantings include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Riesling and Chardonnay. Their new cellar door is open for business on Thursday through to Monday providing a unique wine tasting experience covering our large range of both estate grown wines and wines made with fruit from other regions including Tumbarumba. Upper Murray Estate have four wine labels available, their Upper Murray Estate wines label, The Naked Bottle, a cleanskin label only available through the cellar door, Jack Riley - the Original Man From Snowy River label and Lankeys Creek Wines. Upper Murray Estate also have both indoor and outdoor function areas and a kitchen available to cater for functions at their beautiful vineyard. Functions can be self-catered or they will hire caters to suit your catering needs. If you would like to have a 'bring your own' (food only) picnic at Upper Murray Estate's beautiful vineyard and winery, free barbecues are available. Fresh espresso coffee is available along with a range of soft drinks for the children. Upper Murray Estate are a pet friendly winery and their winery dog, Missy, will greet you on arrival. Walwa Community Shop is open three days a week. The shop offers a little bit of everything from second hand clothing, bric a brac, shoes and a large collection of books. Run by local volunteers, they also supply free fruit and vegetables from excess supplies from local gardens. Walwa Community Shop was established by a group of volunteers keen to advance and support healthy ageing in their rural community. Its main objective is as a drop-in centre for people to come in and have a chat, coffee and pick-up some bargains. All profits go back into the community. A visit to Walwa can be enjoyed as you tour throughout the magnificent Upper Murray region. The River Road follows the Murray River upstream from Albury Wodonga for a leisurely one and a half hour drive. This touring route is popular with caravanners and motorcycle touring clubs. Access to Walwa via Holbrook, Tumbarumba and Corryong. This is the ideal place to learn what Walwa has to offer from a well informed local.
