Elmar and Anette Dieren came to Australia from Germany in 1987, bringing with them German machinery, knowledge, experience and a passion for smallgoods production. Following the success of two smallgoods stores, in Highgate and Myaree, Elmar’s in the Valley was developed.

Incorporating Elmar’s passion for quality smallgoods and traditional beers, with Anette’s love of fine food, Elmar’s in the Valley has become the perfect place to enjoy quality products in a relaxed, casual environment.

A selection of Elmar and Anette’s smallgoods are available on site, at Elmar’s in the Valley, as well as a large range of merchandise, gift ideas and local artwork. Traditionally in Germany, pubs and smallgoods stores are located along side one another to offer complimentary services - Elmar’s in the Valley incorporates German culture in a uniquely Australian environment.

The original Mash Brewhouse, home of world class Hand Crafted Ales and Lagers designed in house to represent some of the worlds most popular styles.

Executive Head Chef Jack works closely with Head Brewer Johnanas to create a menu that marries the food with our handcrafted beers. In fact our beer can be found in several of our handcrafted dishes on the menu.

Mash Brasserie serves only the freshest Australian as well as local produce where possible, from the land and sea. Free range poultry & meats, seasonal vegetables, fish from our local waters and specialty produce arrives on a daily basis to deliver our customers the finest quality.
