The Hamilton Hotel has a long history as an Australian icon Hotel. Providing decades of friendly service and hospitality to the locals of Brisbane.
The hotel was built as a meeting place for horse racing identities and it wasn't long before the whole locality was known as The Hamilton.
Gustav Hamilton finally sold the hotel and retired to Toowoomba, however as good fortune would have it, it was taken over by Sam Hamilton who perpetuated the name and the racing history of the hotel.
Today, as one of Brisbanes most well known iconic venues the Hamilton Hotel continues to provide its patrons with that same friendly hospitality and prides itself on the highest quality meals and crisp Australian and imported brews.

It is with enormous sadness that the owners of Bretts Wharf advise that this iconic Brisbane Restaurant closed its doors on 2 September 2012.

As you may be aware, Alastair McLeod is also executive chef at the acclaimed Tank Restaurant and Bar which has a different ownership structure to Bretts Wharf. Similarly, Baguette Bistrot in Racecourse Road also has some ownership in common with Bretts and is unaffected and continues to do well. They too would be delighted to assist with a reservation or function enquiry.
