The Coolangatta Sands Hostel sits above the hotel, the hostel caters specifically to international backpackers. We offer 111 beds for guests and the facilities are second to none. Airconditioned rooms, security access and lockers for belongings, modern kitchen and bathroom and a balcony joining your room that looks over to Kirra Point.

For the surfing fanatics, one of the world's most famous north facing beaches, D-Bar that made Mark Occuhilupo, Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson famous, are just a few metres away.

Pancakes in Paradise is located in Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta - it has affordable family dining, big breakfasts and of course our famous pancakes. We have a $9.50pp all you can eat pancake deal. As well as sweet & savoury pancakes & crepes we have steak, ribs, chicken, fish & salads. Almost thirty years ago (1985), when Italian-born Rocky Pantaleo and Felice Nania took over a run-down pizza shop in Melbourne's Italian hub, word got around.

News of La Porchetta’s great pasta, pizza and Italian-style menu, its atmosphere and great value spread rapidly and soon it became renowned as a special place to experience good food.

The place had a buzz and some days you could even go there and listen to Rocky strumming his guitar to his favourite Italian songs.

Since then, the La Porchetta family has worked hard to create that experience in other restaurants.
