Warrawong offers a unique opportunity to get amongst the Australian bush and wildlife in a protected habitat. With over 100 species of birds and many native mammals, Warrawong Wildlife Park is a great day out and an educational one. Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary was first established in 1969 when dairy land was revegetated with native trees and shrubs to attract native animals and birds. In 1982 the 35 acres was enclosed with feral-proof fencing. Once the fence was completed, the bird population flourished and the release of many native animals began. Today, Warrawong is home to 100 species of birds and many native mammals, most of which are nocturnal. Warrawong offers a unique opportunity to get amongst the Australian bush and wildlife in a protected habitat. The Mount Lofty Botanic Garden overlooking the Piccadilly Valley features displays of cool temperate plants, which thrive on the eastern slopes of Mount Lofty. Spring and autumn in the Garden are both magnificent, with stunning mass displays of magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias and roses adding a splash of colour to the gardens. The sweet scented ATCO Heritage Rose Garden, featuring both modern and old-fashioned roses is particularly popular. Several picturesque walking trails take you up and down the gardens seven valleys, including the Fern Gully - home to one of the richest collections of ferns in Australia. The Bank SA Nature Trail is wonderful at all times of the year allowing visitors to experience the diversity of original plants in the Garden. A very small winery in the European mould established in 1982. The fine elegant wines, plus bigger bodied wines made for the second label, Galah, are available for tasting at the friendly and bucolic cellar door where the winemaker is often in attendance. Ashton Hills Vineyard lies just below the summit of Mount Lofty on a ridge top overlooking the Piccadilly Valley. The wines reflect the regions cool and humid climate and have fine flavours with a lingering finish. The cellar door opened in 1991. Specialising in dry white and red table wines and sparkling wines. Grapes grown include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.

You will find a collection of artefacts, historic photographs and text from more than 100 years of history of the Lutheran Church in Papua New Guinea and more recently, South East Asia. Gulf Brewery is a microbrewery producing hand crafted boutique beers. You can taste beers at the cellar door and either relax and have a beer by the glass or take away to drink at your leisure. The cellar door is located between the IGA and Otto's bakery on the main street of historic Hahndorf in the picturesque Adelaide Hills Gulf Brewery have a wide range of beers available, so they can guarantee there will be a beer to suit your palette from a crisp refreshing lager to smooth dark chocolate stout. They also have one off specialty beers on tap throughout the year. If you are not sure what beers you would like, why not try a tasting paddle of six? Tasting plates of cheeses, local meats and olives are also available to complement the beer selection. Gulf Brewery can also host functions by appointment.

Manyara Vineyard is a small family vineyard located in Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills where the extended Lipman family concentrate on growing grapes of the highest quality. The vines are lovingly tended and carefully managed through hand pruning, shoot and bunch thinning to produce premium wines with distinctive fruit character. Wines available include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and the Manyara red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The 2011 Pinot Noir will be available early in 2012.

Barratt Wines, acclaimed for its award-winning specialty Pinot Noir, is a family-owned and operated winery located in the Piccadilly Valley; a premium grape-growing region of South Australia's Adelaide Hills. It sources grapes from two small vineyards (Uley and Bonython), to produce quality wines handcrafted to exacting standards. Adelaide Hills is very typically cool climate: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot are the varieties to flourish in this subregion.

Find handwoven textiles and tapestries produced on eight large looms are found at The Oakbank Weaver in the old cellars of Pike's historic Brewery. The weavers, Peter Stapleton and Mary Cassini, create their own patterns, which are fascinating to see emerging on the looms. The finished tapestries and textiles ranging from throw rugs to suit fabrics, upholstery, stoles and scarves can be purchased in the gallery located under the 1889 stone brew tower. Commissions are welcomed. The building is listed as a fine industrial example of Victorian architecture on the State Heritage Register. Entry is free for individuals. Groups are welcomed by prior arrangement.
