The Jumrum Creek walk is within the Jumrum Creek Conservation Park, which protects a small pocket of rainforest in the middle of the Kuranda township. The park encompasses rainforest along a section of Jumrum Creek before it flows into the nearby Barron River.
This short one-way walk can be accessed from Barang Street near the village centre or from Barron Falls Road, both of which have small parking bays. The walk descends to the crossing over Jumrum Creek and climbs gently up to road access points. Visitors can retrace their steps or link onto the well sign-posted Kuranda village circuit walk, which includes the Jungle and River walks and passes through the village to complete the circuit. As you walk, look for climbing palms such as lawyer vine and enjoy the diversity of plant and animal species along the way.

Within walking distance of the rainforest village of Kuranda, an elevated, wheelchair-accessible walkway, suspended high above the forest floor, winds through lush rainforest canopy to Barron Falls lookout.
Meander along the walkway and find out more about the nature and culture of the park from wayside signs. At the lookout, enjoy views over the gorge and scenic Barron Falls. Be enveloped in a cloud of mist as the falls thunder spectacularly down the gorge during the wetter months. Watch the gondolas on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway glide above the far-side of the gorge and, twice each day, watch the Kuranda Scenic Railway tourist train pull into the platform below the lookout. Take care near the railway line. Toilets are located in the car park.
