Indiyum traces its origins to the years to GJ’s childhood. He first discovered his passion for cooking and food while watching his mom cook the most delicious meals for the family. He went on to take his formal training in hotel management in India, and he further learnt culinary art in Japan. With his formal training completed, he took off to roam and discover the world in all its flavours and tastes!
Then one day, he landed in Australia and fell in love with the vegemite and he became an Aussie at heart. One momentous sunny day, he visited Caloundra with friends while on a holiday. Naturally his first pursuit was to seek a restaurant where they could have authentic Indian food. They were shocked to know that Caloundra had none. The residents told him- “ Help us! We are all dying to have delicious Indian food, but there is none available around here”.
