St Paul's River Cabins provide self-contained accommodation near Avoca in the central north-east of Tasmania. Rise at daybreak and walk a few steps to your own private fishing spot. The timber cabins are spacious, light and modern. Each cabin has two bedrooms and can sleep up to six guests. There is an open-plan kitchen and living area. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities. There are beautiful timber floors and a spacious veranda to enjoy the sweeping views. Arrange for a guided fishing tour of nearby rivers or the central lakes. Enjoy the seclusion and for licensed anglers, simply wander down to the water's edge and cast a line. Located in the heart of St Paul's Valley, go for a morning walk and enjoy the fresh country air. Be spoilt with fresh farm eggs and fruits from the orchard when in season. A range of wines and spirits is also available on request. Forty-minutes' drive away, through an impressive highland pass, are the beaches and national parks of the north-east coast. Choose to bushwalk, swim, surf or charter a vessel for some excellent game fishing. Avoca is one-hour drive (81 kilometres/50 miles) from central Launceston.

Opening on 25 September, you are invited to walk down memory lane and explore the pictorial history of the past sporting heroes of the Avoca and Rossarden District. See the inventions first created at Bona Vista and the Avoca Racing Track that were copied and then used all around Australia and then the world. Recall the Avoca Roo Shoot that sparked bitter public debate in the 1960s. On display: original trophies, uniforms and memorabilia. Come and enjoy the Avoca Spring Festival and see this amazing exhibition of the many sporting events enjoyed in the district and where several residents went on to achieve fame in their field.
