Venman Bushland National Park

West Mount Cotton Road, Mount Cotton QLD 4165
Venman Bushland National Park is a tranquil portion of bushland on Tingalpa Creek abounding in wildlife: koalas, possums, gliders and wallabies. In spring, wildflowers bloom. These 255 acres were sold to the government for one dollar in 1971 by a farmer with a dream of preserving wildlife and its habitat. Jack Venman (who still lived next door on the rest of his property) then devoted the rest of his life to improving the area for others. Two walking tracks take you to the creek. Listen for the tunes of birds, especially the deep call of the powerful owl and try to glimpse this rarely seen bird. Enjoy a picnic or cook your lunch on a wood-fired barbecue (firewood supplied)....

Gindabara Logo and Images

Gindabara

18 Mooroondu Street, Coochiemudlo Island QLD 4184

Gindabara ('place of laughter' in Quandamooka dialect) is a quiet, one-acre hideaway on tranquil Coochiemudlo Island with elbow room and comfort.
Step away from the daily bustle and enjoy the sun, the beach, the forest walks, and the curlews - without the TV or WIFI.

With comfortable sleeping quarters and generous shared spaces, Gindabara is the perfect place to unwind and connect with your extended family or a group of friends over several days.

Regard Gindabara as an easy and welcoming base. Once settled in you may sample the delights of the island, soak up the tranquility of the grounds, get active with table tennis, or spend time chatting, cooking, eating, or playing games inside.

Gindabara is self-catered (although if you need help with the food we can suggest someone). There are no bottle shops or grocery stores on the island. So the idea is... book a barge over and bring everything with you - except maybe the milk and ice.
